The race season for cross country mountain biking is back, a sure sign that spring has sprung in the lower mainland. The Sunshine Coaster is a kick-off race just north of Langdale/Gibsons on the Sunshine coast – a well supported community event that highlights the excellent trails that have been developed throughout the region. The race accommodates all skill levels and is divided up into a 45 km “cross-country marathon” a 25 km “short (but challenging) course”, a Mach Chicken downhill (on the Sunday), and various events of kids. Additional information including the results and a race map can be found at http://sunshinecoaster.net/index.html.
