Squamish is one of only two places in Canada (the other being Quebec City) that made this particular list (although numerous other cities, towns and places in Canada have been featured in previous articles).  My main tool for assessing Squamish’s new found notoriety is how busy it has become at the Brew Pub. Not that long ago, it was rare to find it full and now it is often packed.  The town still has a ways to go, but is definitely moving in the right direction. Apart from its natural beauty which presents endless outdoor recreational opportunities, its relative affordability compared to either Vancouver or Whistler is attracting young families, which should (hopefully) result in new businesses being established.
