On a very stormy, rainy day, we took a one hour train ride from Shoreham-by-Sea (near Stenying) to Victoria in London, and then a tube to Piccadilly Circus. Despite the fact it was the weekend and the weather was lousy, London was PACKED (which it always seems to be). Definitely one of my favorite cities in the world along with New York, Rome, Paris etc. that are cultural and commercial hubs that have a global reach. In addition the the tube (the network was first established in the 1860’s and extends over 400 km beneath London and carries almost 1.3 billion passengers per year), London is a very walkable city with one of the most cosmopolitan populations on the planet – there is literally something to see and do on almost every corner (or just people watch). There were dozens of shows to choose from in the west end theatre district and we chose “Thriller” mainly because show times were convenient. Like Broadway in New York, the concentration and quality and of talent is phenomenal and the performance was well worth the price of admission. A few shots of the day in London can be seen here.
