Connecting Squamish Neighbourhoods’ public art project

gsb_canada-4324-20161204_squamishAt the end of October, a local multimedia artist, Christina Nick, installed three permanent art installations around town that feature brightly-coloured sockeye salmon made of welded steel. Salmon in each installation are positioned to give the impression of leaping up a waterfall and add a splash of colour and “quirkiness” to an increasingly vibrant downtown. The one shown here is just in front of Corsa Cycles in downtown Squamish. Its great to see these sorts of initiatives in Squamish – congratulations to the District of Squamish Public Art Select Committee for helping make this happen.
