After taking a few photos of last weeks T.O.M. (Test of Metal; – see earlier posts), I decided I would start “knocking off” various section of the T.O.M. route that I hadn’t already ridden. 9 mile hill and the Powerhouse Plunge sounded like a reasonable challenge so I set off on a lovely Sat afternoon with my faithful companion Wally. By the time I reached to top of 9 Mile hill (I actually cheated and started about 5 km below the top), I realized my fitness level was somewhat below the 500 + riders who competed last week and that about all the additional physical exertion/stress that I could handle for the rest of the afternoon was deciding between the new Sky Pilot IPA or the Mettleman Copper Ale at the Howe Sound Brew Pub.
Day 2 – tried again the next day – got further, but also got lost. Think I know where to go next time – Wally got a good run.
