Another spectacular day of driving down the west coast of the Scottish highlands – the scenery was dramatic at every turn. The roads and weather was such that, to quote Jim Morrison, I had to keep “my hands on the wheel and eyes on the road” when moving – another very stormy day on narrow, winding roads. For obvious reasons this part of the country is popular with “adventure” travellers and we saw a lot of youngsters with kayaks, mountain bikes, tents, hiking gear etc. strapped to their vehicles. We ended the day at Kyle of Lochalsh, a small town on the mainland side of the bridge to the Isle of Skye. We drove over to the Isle of Skye for a short walk near the bridge, but didn’t venture further because of the weather. A few shots of driving along the west coast can be seen here.
