Earlier this week a group of partners from work were able to take advantage of an auction prize that we’d won as part of our annual Movember fund raising campaign for prostate cancer and other men’s health issues. The prize involved a cruise with Tom, Mark and Erin on Tom’s spectacular catamaran that is moored at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club in Stanley Park. After a week of unstable weather (wet, windy and cold) we were not sure what to expect, but the sun came out late afternoon, and by the time we set sail at 5:00 pm conditions were perfect. Tom took us out under the Lions Gate bridge and up the coast past West Vancouver, Lighthouse Park and to Thunderbird Marina before crossing English Bay to Kits and then down into False Creek before heading back to Burrard Inlet and the marina. It was an absolutely beautiful evening (helped along by fine food, drinks and gracious hosts) – I’d never seen Vancouver from this perspective and it hammered home why it is considered one of the most desirable places in the world to live. A few photos of our cruise can be see by clicking this link or the photo to the left. A big thanks to Tom, Mark and Erin for a memorable evening.
