From Struisbaai, we drove along the coast towards Cape Town, along a route famous for its scenic beauty that includes wine estates on one side and a stunningly beautiful coastline on the other. There are numerous points along the way to stop and watch migrating whales, and view seal and penguin colonies. We spent two nights at the Meeredal Wine Estates in Durbanville, about 40 minutes outside of Cape Town. It was a short drive into Cape Town where we visited Table Mountain (huge lineups to get into the cable car, but well worth the wait once you are up) and then down to the Victoria and Alfred docks area. The V&A area is a bit like Granville Island on steroids – a large complex of high-end shops, craft stalls, cafes, restaurants, breweries etc. A few shots of our day can be seen by clicking this link or the embedded photo.
