Although the season is not “officially” open, a beautiful sunny Saturday in early March brought out a good group of kite boarders down at the Squamish spit. Our unusually mild winter hasn’t been great for skiers, but the bikers, climbers and water sports enthusiasts have managed to get an early start to the season. The ducks and geese are already pairing up, and lots of song birds could be heard throughout the Squamish estuary this morning. As per some earlier posts, the mild weather seems to be prompting an early spring for both flora and fauna in the part of the world – some additional shots can be seen here.
